Welcome to The Official Frank Ifield Web Site!
Greetings from Frank:
“My friend and webmaster Bob Howe would like to join me and my family in wishing you all a very Happy Christmas. Below is a picture of my grandchildren sitting on Santa’s knee – left to right – Max is just 2 years old and his brother Jack is 4. Reflected in their faces you can see the joy of Christmas and their hopes of the future and for what the brand New Year ahead may bring. We can only pray that it will bring peace and freedom to our children all over the world along with joy and prosperity to all.”

“The Galston Country Music Festival was rained out of the park but relocated to The Galston Club and a none the less appreciative audience … the show was great! I was particularly delighted to see how well Travis Collins was received as were newcomers Johanna Hemara and Amber Lawrence (Amber won the 2006 Cooper’s Golden Saddle Award). This year’s very special guest legend Kevin Johnson’s performance was wonderful.” (Pictured Left: Kevin, Amber and Frank)

Frank Ifield featured on the National Nine Network TV program “Sunday”…
Sunday is widely regarded as the most respected public affairs program on Australian commercial television. For several weeks Sunday and reporter Max Cullen prepared a ‘cover story’ arts & music profile on Frank Ifield and it aired on June 25. Pictured left, host Jana Wendt introduces the segment entitled Remembering Frank Ifield.

TRAVIS COLLINS, joins Frank in the current UK & European radio play list charts. Travis made his debut with his song Slow Train Coming which made a giant leap from nowhere to #10 in his first week, and then up to #8. Frank was also on the charts with his top ten hit ‘NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW’ from the latest 3-CD
From Frank: “I would like to congratulate my multi-talented friend and webmaster BOB HOWE who has won Variety Vocal/Instrumental Performer of the Year in the 30th Australian Entertainment ‘MO’ Awards, which is a huge honour and a testament to his musical skills. He has also just released his long-awaited solo instrumental CD entitled GO WEST.
Bob Howe is known by many different names such as ‘Cyber Bob’ and ‘Big Bob From Bondi’, but here he stands out as ‘Mr Magic Fingers’ as he plucks notes from the ether and makes the guitar literally paint technicolour pictures. Listen with your eyes closed and be transported to the days of the old Wild West.
These all-time great western movie themes are guaranteed to arrest your attention from the first track Ghost Riders In The Sky, to the very last which features the voice of Donna Boyd singing Johnny Guitar – plus a few surprises, including Yakety Axe (the Benny Hill theme) which he played in all of my shows in the mid-eighties. So, take the time to listen to some of the samples and I am convinced you will want the CD for your personal collection. Click here for more…

TRAVIS COLLINS WINS SPUR AWARD!
It was a packed house at Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL Club in Sydney on March 10th for a concert featuring previous winners of the FRANK IFIELD INTERNATIONAL SPUR AWARD. Stacey Morris, Wayne Law, Donna Boyd, Mike Carr and Wayne Horsburgh all paid tribute to Frank who presents the award each year in conjunction with The Galston Country Music Festival.
The highlight of the night was the presentation of the 2006 award which went to a stunned TRAVIS COLLINS. Although no stranger to awards and national recognition, Travis was delighted to learn that this award will ensure significant airplay and promotion in the U.K. and Europe for his music.

FRANK IFIELD presents his 2006 INTERNATIONAL SPUR AWARD to TRAVIS COLLINS
Frank Ifield said of his choice; “What the world of Country Music needs is a new direction to capture the imagination of a whole new generation. We have the answer in Travis Collins. When Travis hits the stage the world takes a breath, then within minutes the whole world erupts. This charismatic young man has all the pizzazz of youth, bursting with talent and I am convinced he will take Country Music forward in his own direction. His direction? The World!”

ROOTY HILL RSL COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL:-
Wow! What a fabulous weekend was had by all at the’AristOcrat Country Music Festival’ held in the Sports ground of Rooty Hill RSL Club. This two-day event is one to be remembered by the Country music fans for a long-long time. Starting off in the morning of Saturday 3rd was an array of young under eighteen talent vying for the ‘Patrons Trophy’ in the Music & Arts Talent Search (MATS) Country Showcase, the likes of which would lead even the toughest critic to believe that a bright future for entertainment is assured. The compere was the affable Peter Graham of 2GB who in his desire to nurture young aspiring Australian talent and had already featured no less that six of the contestants on his popular Saturday radio program called ‘The 2GB Club Show’. The judges were Country Music Presenter Barbara Morison of 2SER FM and our Frank who is the Patron of MATS. The choice was a tough one as each of the contestants had something different to offer, but the final decision was for CLOE GRAHAM whose performance made her the outright winner. 2nd prize was won by AIMIE HANNAN who has a quality of voice to also ensure her of a place in the entertainment world. 3rd place was a stunning performance by a young bubbly ten-year old TIMARA POLICINAS. Then Frank insisted on two extra prizes for the sight acts: JADE MILLER who did a magnificent act as a contortionist cowgirl and magician JOWEL HOWLETT who showed us some rope tricks. Both acts had the foresight to adapt their acts to suit the particular occasion.
Then Frank brought out his own hand picked professionals in WAYNE LAW, STACEY MORRIS, LUKE KOTERAS, WAYNE HORSBURGH & DONNA BOYD to bring a music-filled Saturday to a climax.

Sunday morning saw the Breakfast With The Poets tent well underway at 9am when the poets GREAME JOHNSON; CAROL HEUCHAN; GARRY LOWE & SHIRLEY FRIEND put the early bird audience into chirpy mood. At 11 am the GALSTON ALL STARS BAND struck up on the main stage, and PAT DRUMMOND & KAREN LYNNE set the tone for the great musical feast to follow. We were enthralled by the talented young rising star KIRSTY LEE AKERS and the show continued to flow smoothly through the many facets of the Country Music genre from more traditional style of DWAYNE ELIX through to the Texas Swing of the FERAL SWING KATZ followed by the ever-popular legend JUDY STONE.

TRAVIS COLLINS brought us right up to date with a dynamic performance of what Urban Country is all about. His unique talent, good looks and personality, could well gain him a wider International audience. This was followed by DALE JUNER who turned up with rising star MISTEN, GRANT LUHRS and his Chook Raffle Band; the irrepressible SUNNY COWGIRLS and the legendary heartthrob JAMES BLUNDELL and there you have all the right ingredients of what was a scintillating weekend even before the dazzling display of fireworks heralded the end of the eventful day.
Watch this space for news as the ‘AristOcrat Country Music Festival’ will return to the Rooty Hill RSL in March next year.
Back on the road to Tamworth: Frank was there on Wednesday 25th January to host another great show of CLASSIC COUNTRY held at Tamworth Town Hall from 2pm to 5pm. And what a show it was – headed by the man with the great voice * John Stephan * supported by Jonahs Road, Lynne McKenzie , Misten, Travis Sinclair, Carter & Carter and the Hot Foot Dancers!

Here is a rare piece of history depicting over 55 years of Frank Ifield’s show business career in story form, covering many of his worldwide achievements by the use of personal photographs, pictures, symbols and other memorabilia.
This now stunningly beautiful and one-off, personally autographed guitar case had been Frank’s touring case for many years. Unfortunately, the guitar was stolen some years ago, however, after years of laying idle, his wife Carole, using her talents of decoupage, gave a new lease of life to this well-travelled old case and transformed it into this wonderful, unique work of art that will soon be offered for sale on E-Bay.
